The Delight Technology Incubation Center (DTI Center) is a free non-formal IT education facility established by Delight Rwanda to promote equal access to technology training for rural children and young adults. The Advanced IT training Empowering School Dropouts Through IT Training enter provides essential IT training and infrastructure by setting up free DTI Computer Labs (computer training labs) in remote areas of Rwanda.
Through technology, we empower young minds to dream bigger, learn smarter, and build a better future.
In this context, the DTI Center offers basic, intermediate, and advanced computer courses for children and
young adults.
The DTI Center’s training system consists of three beneficiary categories:
1. The first category admits children aged eight (8) to twelve (12) years.
2. The second category is for young adults aged thirteen (13) to twenty (20) years.
3. The third category includes learners aged twenty-one (21) to thirty (30) years.
Rwanda has placed a significant emphasis on ICT (Information and Communication Technology) as part of
its Vision 2020 and Vision 2050 development strategies. The government aims to transform the country into a knowledge-based economy. A substantial portion of Rwanda's population resides in rural areas, where access to quality education and technology is more limited compared to urban centers. Many children in these villages face challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, a shortage of qualified
teachers, and limited access to digital devices and internet connectivity.
To address these challenges, the DTI Center has been established to provide computer literacy and information technology training programs. These programs reflect the global evolution of technology and lay the foundation for impactful learning by offering the latest tools, resources, and opportunities.
